I find myself quite attracted to this guitar. It's certainly something different from the norm, but still has elegance and grace, those qualities that are all too often lacking in unusual or off-the-wall guitar designs.
Its creator tells us that:
The open and spacious nature of the Contour Series design represents a radical departure from previous electric guitars. In addition this design greatly contributes to the sonic properties, sustain, and sound output of these instruments. Many players will find that bracing the playing hand on the SIDE of the inner body instead of on the top of the guitar, allows for faster, smoother, and more accurate playing. The large carved out areas give me more freedom to make use of very dense solid tone woods that would normally be too heavy.I'm not sure how much of that is marketing hyperbole, but it remains an intriguing instrument nevertheless.
